origo
A light sculpture created for the fountain in the small park Olaf Ryes Plass in Oslo.
The park is oriented exactly on the North-South axis, with paths coming from NW,NE, SW and SE directions into the circular place around the fountain making it a quite busy pedestrian passage.
The work was inspired by the placement of the park and the flow of people and could be seen as a sort of guiding instrument:something between a compass and a light house.
The sculpture consists of two thick transparent acrylic disks placed horizontally on four arms.
Two light pulses travels along the circumference of the disks in opposite directions, the two pulses meet at slightly different points for every loop.
origo was one of two works I made for the group exhibition
signalfeil at Atelier Nord.
